Outdoor Solutions Landscape & Civil delivered a comprehensive upgrade to multiple outdoor learning environments for an early education facility, working in partnership with Collins Constructions. The project focused on creating safe, engaging, and compliant outdoor spaces tailored to the developmental needs of nursery, toddler, pre-kindy, and kindergarten age groups.

The scope included the installation of artificial turf and soft fall surfaces across the Kindy/Toddler and Pre-Kindy yards, ensuring durability, safety, and year-round usability. Works were carried out in accordance with the landscape plan, including the careful relocation of an existing field gully to suit the revised layout.
A full landscape and garden upgrade was undertaken, with the replacement of planter boxes and garden edging to the senior toddler and pre-kindy outdoor areas. Sensory garden elements were introduced to the nursery yard to support early childhood development through tactile and visual engagement.
Existing play elements were reviewed and modified, including the removal of a timber seat in the kindergarten yard and re-profiling of the area to accommodate compliant soft fall surfacing.

The project also involved a detailed fencing and access review, resulting in the replacement of fencing and gates to the toddler and nursery yards, new fencing outside the pre-kindy room, and upgraded fencing to the kindergarten area to improve safety, flow, and compliance.
To enhance comfort and sun protection, new shade sails were installed over the nursery sandpit, toddler sandpit, kindergarten area, and pre-kindy soft fall zone.
A key component of the works was the delivery of Goodstart-compliant sandpit containment systems across all age-group yards, including nursery, toddler, pre-kindy, and kindergarten spaces. Each sandpit was constructed to specification and integrated with durable timber storage boxes, with the kindergarten sandpit also incorporating a dedicated water point.

This project demonstrates Outdoor Solutions’ ability to manage complex, multi-zone education environments, delivering high-quality, compliant, and thoughtfully designed outdoor spaces that support play, learning, and safety.
