H Block – Student Hub
The existing eatery at H Block is located at the heart of the Cairns Campus. The eatery lacked amenity and was under-utilised.
The redevelopment of this space created a multifaceted student hub encompassing social learning spaces, student facilities and designated eating areas servicing the updated campus café. The upgrade included a new commercial kitchen for the campus café which facilitates training for hospitality students in preparation and service.
Pockets of individual and collaborative learning spaces were created with custom joinery to inform circulation paths and zoning. The combination of carefully selected acoustic elements and a natural palette including greenery creates a vibrant and inviting space.
